CASE DESCRIPTION The primary subject matter of this case concerns the value of quality control and continual system improvement. Secondary issues examined include project implementation, and quality management issues. The case has a difficulty level appropriate for undergraduate seniors towards the end of a semester quality management class and for graduate students. The concepts presented in the class are not trivial and several hours during class can easily be used to discuss all issues. A student's degree of understanding of process control issues, financial analysis, and quality management issues dictate the amount of time out of class each will spend to address case issues. Most students will need to spend a minimum of four hours to address all issues.
